Approach

I am Ashley, and I photograph weddings the way a documentary works: I watch, I wait, and I step in only when a picture genuinely needs it. You will be guided when you want to be guided, and left alone when the day is already doing the work. What I am after is the celebration you actually had, not a version of it staged for the camera.

I started assisting on weddings in 2017 and went full time in the summer of 2023, after leaving a nine to five that was never going to hold my attention. Somewhere past 150 weddings across southwestern Pennsylvania and well beyond it, the thing I care about has not changed: the small fleeting moments matter as much as the first kiss, because they are what tell you the whole story later.

Film runs alongside the digital coverage on nearly every job. 35mm, 120, Polaroids and Super 8 motion picture, mixed in because they slow me down and make me trust my instincts instead of the screen on the back of the camera. I am a sentimental pack rat, I collect old cameras, and I got married myself in 2024, so I know exactly how the planning feels from your side of it.

Based just outside Pittsburgh with my husband Frank, our daughter, and two cats named Stink and Pants. Available to travel wherever the wedding is.
